History

Blessings can come from pain and suffering. God is a healer.

In the midst of my life's challenges stood a beloved aunt, Catherine Hunt, who gave me the encouragement, guidance, and love I needed to make it to adulthood, with a sound mind.  The love I had for my aunt and her negligent death in a Detroit nursing home turned my life experiences into a fight for justice for the elderly.   Read about Catherine at www.catherinehunt.org

Welcome to my Website!

Joy In the Fire--My Love of Catherine is a compelling true story of my determination to survive after the fatal shooting of my 28-year old mother despite the challenges of sibling separation, relocation, sexual abuse, rape and life threatening living conditions.  Read how I survived and learn how my negative experiences were turned into a fight for justice for nursing home residents and the elderly.  My story led to the formation of a non=profit organization that provide services to nursing home residents, the elderly and disabled.  It is a 501c3 organization named after Mrs. Hunt---The Catherine Hunt Foundation, Inc.

Please Enjoy Your Stay.

Many adults today are survivors of child sexual abuse.  The actual number of survivors are unknown because so many incidents go unreported.  There are perhaps millions.  If you are a victim of child sexual abuse, there are organizations to which you can report, including your local police enforcement agency.  Sexual abuse is any unwanted, unwelcomed or forced sexual activity from one person towards another.  If you are a child under the age of 16 and believe that you are being sexually abused, please tell someone and keep telling until someone listens and comes to your rescue.  Each situation is different and you should report in a manner that keeps you safe or free from retaliation.  Most sexual abusers don't want anyone to know about them and usually act alone.  Parents are often the abuser.

If you are a survivor of child sexual abuse, and are having problems coping with life, there are support groups available.  Contact  your local county's domestic violence unit who should be able to provide you with names of organizations in your community.  The telephone number should be available through the courts or local police authority.

As my page develops, additional information will be made available.  KEEP WATCHING !
